Otis (my fat little harmless lab) and I just got attacked too! We
were in Hartman Park (CT, our personal back yard) when a couple came
loping up with two Rottweilers, off-leash. Those monsters are bred to
hunt in packs, and they didn't even sniff, just pounced, all snarl,
teeth and spittle. Otis squirmed out of his collar, did the lab butt-
tuck, and was GONE! I was furious. Bad owners who have no place with
such magnificent animals oughta be spayed themselves.

Luckily no stiches or lost wedding rings: I vote cscm & Rustypuff for
the next Purple Heart award.

Hi Jay,
Since you are a transplanted Californian I'm surprised you don't carry the really nessary equipment in your backpack along with an extra clip. Re:"What do you carry in your Backpack?" I'm not tellin. Hope Otis is ok. Don

Thanks Jay, that's what I was hoping for, someone to second the
prospect.
I can just picture Otis doing the butt drop and run. I have a
porky yellow lab named Fish and he thinks he's tough, up to a point!
Glad he's OK.

My mom has a taser that she uses while she was walking. Animals (cats and dogs) run like the devil was chasing them when it is turned on. She doesn't even have to use it on the animal. Just turning it on causes them to flee.
